Iraq War

There were several wars in the twentieth century that caught the attention of the people. World War II, Vietnam War and The Cold War are only a few of the many wars we lived by. Now, in the twentieth first century the first war we have lived is the Iraqi War. The United States started a war against Iraq for causes that brought more negative than positive effects for the whole world. "The world will be better after Sadam government" This is what Bush was always saying before he started the Iraqi war. It's not true, because Iraq became a safe place for terrorism, and it's very easy to buy any weapon very cheaply. The Bush government didn’t plan very well for what they would do after Sadam. The biggest problem that they did in Iraq was fire all the Iraqi army, because those people didn’t find any thing to do except selling weapons to the toreros. The war in Iraq has expanded to its extreme levels, and with the loss of lives, money and integrity that had affected the life of every Iraqi person. Instead of wasting all this powerful energy and money in un-useful war that result no advantages to both countries, it should have been spent to improve the general environment in United States and Iraq and try to fix whatever has been destroyed in the past and make a better future for the coming generations. The last war of United States with Iraq had cost a lot of money, and we didn't get any benefit from this amount that we spent in Iraq except more unemployment. American citizens have been dispossessed of money needed to fund our country with its needs. Our Children's education funding has been cut because, of the war in Iraq, even though, the military of U.S had been destroy by a lot of ways and spent a lot of money by going to Iraq.

Many schools are being closed down every year due to the lack of money being put into those schools. Some of the money spent on the war could be billed for these schools in order to keep them open. For example, after the Board of Education announced that thirty-four public schools would close by next fall the executive vice-president, Virginia Cantrell, of the Detroit Federation of Teachers said, ?We are in a crisis? (Rummel par 2). Cantrell said the loss of more than half of the city’s population in the past thirty years and the growth of charter schools leaves fewer students in the public school system (Rummel par 2). In addition to keeping the schools open, the money would also help stop other problems such as the lack of teachers and poor teacher-student ratios. In November of 2000, students at Guy Benjamin Elementary School were sent home after the teachers who showed up left (McCracken par 1). The school closed at 11:30 when the principal had only three staff members remaining to supervise more than 100 students (McCracken par 2). The teachers were outstanding because of the poor pay. The Territorial Court Judge ended the three week strike by ordering the teachers to come back to work (McCracken par 3). The money used for the war could be allotted to pay teachers more money to keep the people who currently are teachers and as an incentive to get more people to become teachers. This would eliminate the problem of people not wanting to become teachers only because teachers do not make enough money. Moreover, the money could be used to buy needed supplies. Many schools do not have enough amounts of books or computers, if any, that are in good condition. The money could also be used to renovate old schools that are in bad condition. Students everywhere would benefit from money being put into schools directly or indirectly because better schools would produce better students and better students make more money.

The cost of the war raises everyday with more tax dollars being used to fund it. If used efficiently, many other issues such as the budget and social security could benefit from money used for the war in Iraq. Devoting money to solving these problems would not only help solve these problems but would have an effect on America’s overall well being. The bottom line is that there is an enormous amount of money being used to fight this war and if the money was used more efficiently, it could not only be used for the war but also be used for the wars that Americans currently battle everyday at home.

The cost of the war
Every day, hour, and every minute the Bush government spends a lot of money in Iraq for nothing. According to the National Priorities Project website, in 06/17/2007 "the war in Iraq has cost $435,586,751,707." Which is too much and all the people think that money is spending without anything. This huge amount should go for children education as I mention in my thesis. I think this amount can make a big difference if the Bush government. According to the National Priorities Project website in 06/17/2007 if we used this money "we could have hired 7,774,695 additional public school teachers for one year " This amount is only in four years, so imagine how much it would be four years from now? The most important point from that is we didn't get any advantage from this amount that we spent in Iraq except more unemployment, and more shortfalls in the American budget.

Actually, the cost of the war is too much,” The United States has already allocated more than $500 billion on the day-to-day combat operations of what are now 190,000 troops and a variety of reconstruction efforts” (Benderand,2007). Depend on what he said about that money that spent in Iraq wars were affected a lot of things in Iraq. In that war a lot of people had killed, a lot of things were destroy, the big things that has been effect the Iraq people and the country is the sickness and the dieses which killed a lot of people in this country.
In the other side, America spends the money to keep the soldiers in a job and across the waters to keep the promises made to make Iraq a democratic country but what we see right now is a country of fighting and selling weapons and a lot of things bad over it. America needs to continue their fight, even if it means to keep solders longer then they thought. . The rate America keeps losing their men and women, in Iraq proves that something needs to be done to keep the military in the high supply needed. How can the promise made to the Iraqi civilians be kept if there is not enough man power to finish what was started which is the war? Plus the number of civilians who have been signing up has hugely decreased. That is why President Bush’s Stop-loss program?

America is fighting to keep their military well stocked, with soldiers who have already been trained and know exactly what they are doing, is not calling soldiers back into fight, and if you are not on active duty, you are still free to leave and do whatever he/she wants to do, but if you are a reserve there is a good chance that you will be called in to protect your country, the very thing you signed up to do. The stop-loss program also gives the military the power to keep soldiers in Iraq.

According to Ramesh, Randeep. The war we could not stop “The War on Iraq started on March 19, 2003 in order to give the Iraqi people the freedom they need and deserve. The original plan was to stay there for only one year, yet because we have not yet met the original plan, America is still there”. That war which started 2003 that were planed to make the Iraq people more freedom and about them planed to stay in Iraq for one years was not true and was just to destroy the whole country and killing people and losing money over there. According to Thompson “Now the military is attempting to train 200,000 Iraqi troops to take the place of the American soldiers by next August”. That means the military will not be leaving Iraq until after that point, over two years or more than that as what happened right now.

When a person signs the spotted line, they do not have a choice in what happens after the fact which is Bush asked them to stay longer, unless they want to be reprimanded. sense even though you signed saying you were going to leave for sure if the military still needs you; you may just have to stay a little longer. All the soldiers know this when they fill out their contracts with the military. There are no surprises with what will happen if and when the US goes into a time of war; it states that you may be asked to stay longer then what the piece of papers says.

Giving trust to the military and government is something that all citizens should share it. The military and the government has all of their citizen’s best interests at heart, they want to see not only the Americans to have the freedom and the democracy that all people ought to have, but they also want to make sure that all people can have it as well, no matter what country they are from. Iraq was being held captive by their leader, Saddam Hussein, people were being killed when they ought not to have death, and the US gave them their freedom. Made them an independent country, one where democracy is the way to go.

While America’s stay in Iraq, trained men and women is a must in the constant fight. The number of people who have been signing up for any kind of military has gone down, if there are not enough people joining the military how can they afford to keep people there? If a promise to a country is made, then the country needs to be willing to keep the promise to the best of their ability. The United States, could not win the war without the soldiers who fought in it, and they cannot give Iraq the freedom promised if they do not have enough men and women in war. The stop-loss program that President Bush set up and put into play is something that was very needed in the country during this time of argument.
However, the war started and some people get advantages from that war. Some people think that the war is better for the Iraq people because the leader of Iraq had killed and a lot of Iraq people don’t like him because of a lot of reasons such as he doesn’t gives the citizens the freedom. Moreover, the government of the United States gets a lot of advantages from that war such as oil and that gives to the citizens a lot of good price to be the gas. The last thing that I would like to mention is a lot of soldiers when they went to that war got a lot of experience so, they not afraid about any war will happen in the future.

In conclusion, that war had cost a lot of money and had destroyed the whole world. That war and the money that spent in that war should go to a lot of good way such as the big example that I mention in my research is children education in U.S. Moreover, the military plays a massive role in the gift that America is giving to Iraq, without the military the old Iraqi government would still be in charge, and they would be a lot further away from freedom. What had happened to the military it shouldn’t happen to them and they have to go back to them country and live them life after all what happened to them in that war.
